- Is Hijopet safe to install?
- Yes. It is signed and asks for no unnecessary permissions: just camera, microphone (if you record your own sounds) and saving photos. All the AI runs on your phone and your photos stay on your device.
- How do I install it?
- On Android: tap “Try it on Google Play,” join the beta, and install it from Google Play; updates arrive automatically. On iPhone: tap “iPhone” on the home page to open TestFlight and install from there (Apple is still reviewing the beta, so it may take a bit to accept testers).
- Why doesn't it show up when I search Google Play?
- We're already on Google Play in closed beta, polishing the app with real users before opening it to everyone. In the meantime you can join the beta and install it free from Google Play.
- What about my photos and data?
- Your photos stay on your phone: all AI (detection, cutout, styles) runs on-device. Hijopet never uploads your photos; the few online features (downloading a model or sending feedback) ask first. No tracking, no ads, no mandatory accounts.
- Is it free?
- Yes, it's free and complete, with no subscriptions or locked features. If you'd like to help us, we'd be grateful if you shared your experience so more people find us.
- How do I report a problem?
- From the app: Home → ⚙️ (top right) → Help us improve. Or write to us via the Contact link at the bottom of this page.
- Is there a memorial mode for pets who are no longer here?
- Yes. Farewell Mode turns the profile into a place to remember, with a slideshow of your own photos and soft music. You can turn it on whenever you're ready, gently — it's free like everything else.
- Is it family-friendly?
- Yes. Hijopet is about pets, with no adult content, no ads and no accounts. It isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't collect kids' data.
- What quality does it save photos in?
- It saves at the original photo's resolution, without extra recompression. All editing happens on your phone, so sharpness also depends on your device. (No RAW yet; we're evaluating it.)
- Does Hijopet help me care for my pet, not just photograph them?
- Yes. Under Care you keep the Record: a summary for you, your vet, and whoever cares for your pet, with their weight and goal, documents, and contacts. You set reminders for vaccines and care (with an end date, handy for a few-day treatment) and log vet or grooming services with their cost. It helps you stay organized; it doesn't replace your vet.
- How does it find parks or vets nearby without my location?
- We open your phone's map with the search already typed in (for example “parks” or “vet”), and it's your maps app that shows what's close. Hijopet doesn't ask for or send your location: it never receives or stores it.
- Is it on iPhone?
- Yes. The iPhone beta is via TestFlight; the steps are above (“How do I install it?”) and the link is on the home page. Apple is still reviewing it, so it may take a bit to accept testers.
